Svitzer Australia has given notice of a lockout to all harbour towage employees following a year-long pay dispute. The lockout will occur from 12.00 am AEDT on 18 November and will continue indefinitely. This step is being taken in response to unions’ ongoing industrial action, which the company argues is damaging its services and the national supply chain.
The lockout will affect all Svitzer Australia harbour towage employees, including those in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle, Adelaide, Gladstone and Darwin.
